Chef Dave Adlard and his wife Lisa are very pleased to welcome you to their “Candle in the Woods!”

Dave_AdlardDave is an award winning chef who has been cooking literally since he was a child, and brings an enthusiasm and love for cooking that is evident in his cuisine.

He was recently seen on Food Network, and may be on again very soon!

Besides his work at the Candle, he is a regular guest chef at Angelo’s Ristorante, widely acclaimed as the best Italian restaurant in the region.

Dave is a two-time Ironman finisher and multiple time marathon runner and adventure racer, and so he has a very health conscious outlook in the preparation of the meals, making them as low in calories as possible, and using fresh, organic, local ingredients wherever possible… his background is in contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, but he often strays into modern, creative dishes based on the best ingredients in season.

At the Candle, the emphasis is on “Casual Elegance,” rather than “foofy” haute cuisine - we want our guests to be comfortable, and we want our food to not only look good but taste great!

His wife Lisa directs the setup and decoration, which is unique for very meal, as well as the hostess duties and “Chief Referee” for our “House Game;” B.A.T.C!



They have a daughter Delaney, who is already helping Dad in the kitchen!
